Sofapaka Coaching Clinic Postponed

Sofapaka Football Club would like to announce the postponement of the Sofapaka Coaching Clinic that was scheduled to start today 25th September 2014, to 9th October 2014. While announcing the rescheduling of the Clinic, Sofapaka Secretary General Mr. Emmanuel Kayoyi regretted that the club was forced to reconsider the dates to allow for other club activities that were unavoidable.

Sofapaka vs Muhoroni Match Review

Sofapaka FC remain in the second place on the Kenyan Premier Log after an impressive 1 – 0 win against Muhoroni Youth FC in Machakos Stadium. The match was a third straight win against Muhoroni in this season, build up from a first leg win followed by a Gotv Shield match before today’s match.

The match started with both teams appearing more cautious, while attacks were limited to few sparks in the first half. The boys were well organized at the back, with Felly Mulumba and Eugine Asike reading Muhoroni’s moves with precision.

At the whistle of the first half, both sides went for the break on a barren draw with both sides looking like a possible winner.

Kago: Sunday Match against Muhoroni will be Tough.

Kenya’s International and Sofapaka FC Offensive Midfielder Danson Kago has admitted that the Saturday match against Muhoroni FC in Machakos Stadium will be a tough one. “We have beaten Muhoroni twice this season, and beating a team thrice in the same season is always never an easy task”. Sofapaka edged out Muhoroni in the first leg of the Kenyan Premier League before eliminating the Nyanza based side 1-2 in the Gotv Shield knock out round two weeks ago. “All of us in the camp know it won’t be easy, but we are ready for the match. We want to win the title, and that’s why we have to beat Muhoroni again.”

Kago was speaking during the weekly ‘Player and Fans question and answer session’.

Sofapaka is at the Summit

Sofapaka fc has moved to the top of the Kenyan Premier League log with a 1-0 win over Nairobi based City Stars FC, this Friday at Nyayo Stadium. The boys approached the match with a clear understanding of how significant a win would be to the standings. From the first whistle, it was clear that Sofapaka was treating the match with more seriousness and commitment. Captain John Baraza almost put the boys ahead on the 3rd minute, were it not for the extra vigil City’s Goalkeeper Fred Majani.
