Sofapaka trounce Ismailia 4-0 to proceed

Sofapaka stunned Egyptian club Ismailia 4-0 in their return leg Confederations Cup match at Nyayo Stadium. The Kenyan club thus makes it to the third round of the competition on a 4-2 goal aggregate after they lost the first leg 2-0 two weeks ago and in the process makes history by becoming the first local side to eliminate an Egyptian club in any competition

Kimanzi Applauds Sale Of Players

Sofapaka head coach Francis Kimanzi has applauded the sale of his players to top sides describing the move as a step in the right direction. Referring to the recent sale of skipper James Situma who moved to Albanian side FK Tirana and Humphrey Mieno who has signed for Tunisian side Club Africain, Kimanzi says the move will help develop football not only at Sofapaka but in the Kenyan Premier League in general.

City Stars hold Sofapaka to a barren draw

Nairobi City Stars posted a second consecutive draw against top of the league clubs after holding 2009 champions Sofapaka to a barren draw on Sunday at the Nyayo stadium. Stars could have ended the match with maximum points had Ugandan Dan Serunkuma buried a sweet supply by Jimmy Thairu with one second to the end of the match.
