Bidco coach Raphael Auka has termed his side's friendly match with Sofapaka as a success and hopes that his players will have learnt a thing or two from their opponents. Sofapaka and nationwide division one side Bidco, faced off in a friendly match on Thursday 11 August 2011 at the City Stadium in Nairobi, with the 2009 KPL champions winning through a Francis Ouma penalty, late in the second half.
Despite the loss, Auka chose to take the positives out of the game.
-It was a good game for the two sides. It was good practice for the teams. -I don't know about Mr Kimanzi, but as far as I am concerned, the game was good because my team needed the experience and some game time because we are not playing this coming weekend.
-The loss is immaterial to me, the points gained by may players are most important, he told Futaa.com.
Promotion
Bidco are within reach of league leaders Mahakama and second placed Oserian and according to Auka, they are setting their sights on promotion to the KPL next season. We have to be ambitious and set our sights on promotion to the KPL where we can play the best teams in the country.
The game with Sofapaka has shown the players what they can do and the levels they can play in. Mahakama are a bit ahead but if we do well, we can catch up with Oserian who are only five points ahead of us. We are hopeful that we can get in there,he finished. Bidco are currently in position nine in the standings.
