Sofapaka president Elly Kalekwa has condemned the terrorist act that has seen Kenyan nationals and other shoppers held hostage for more than 24 hours at the Westgate Mall in Nairobi’s Westlands area.
The situation that started at around 1100hrs on Saturday 21st September has seen at least 59 people reported killed and the president termed it very unfortunate while passing his condolences to the victims’ families and goodwill messages to the injured.
“It is so unfortunate that things took this turn; as a family, Sofapaka wishes to condemn the act that has seen innocent lives lost, people injured, businesses closed and property destroyed. It is particularly sad that among the targeted were children.
“We want to pass our condolences to the friends and relatives of the people killed as well as wish the injured quick recovery. As we continue mourning together as one big family we say God is in control and only He will deliver us from such evil”, he said.
Among the people killed in the attack was radio presenter Ruhila Adatia among many other high ranking people.
