Club president Elly Kalekwa has revealed that the juniors who represented Sofapaka in the KPL U19 tourney will not be discarded.
The team was eliminated at the quarterfinals stage after a 6 – 7 loss to AFC Leopards U19 on post match penalties but the president confirmed that the club has long term plans for them.He revealed that the club will consider promoting a number of them to the senior side if the coaching staff feels they merit the chance while the younger ones will be allowed to grow within the club’s ranks. “We will not let them go – these are our players and we have long term plans for them. We have to allow them grow with the team too so there is no way we will let them go. We will coordinate with the coaches to see who can be promoted to the senior team. The others will be allowed to grow within our ranks” he noted. |
