Despite dropping two points in the last league game, against Sony Sugar on Friday 27th September, deputy coach David Ouma is still confident that Sofapaka are real title challengers. Sofapaka drew 0 – 0 with Sony, while Gor Mahia won against Chemelil to widen the gap at the top but coach Ouma holds that the battle for this year’s championship will go to the wire and he adds that the team is focused on getting as many wins as possible to live to the expectation.“This battle is not yet over; we are not giving up yet because if you look at the table, we are still firmly in it – we are real title contenders and one thing I am sure of is that this is going to the wire. We are confident and the team is in good shape now so we just want to focus on winning as many games as possible. “Against Sony we did well but they were also well organized defensively even though we managed to open them up a few times and their keeper, who was outstanding in the game, came to their rescue. We wanted a win but a point from such a tough team wasn’t bad”, he said. Sofapaka will take on Karuturi Sport next. |
